Gotenks gives a big, confident, and beautiful battle cry, and Goku tells him to move out. Gotenks then lets go of his Super Buu ball, and begins to launch energy attacks at Super Buu. Gotenks goes for a wild, and beautiful, Super Buu Lightning Cutter. Super Buu attempts to dodge it, but it cuts right through him and leaves him defenseless. Gotenks then follows up with a Super Buu Killer Comet, which shoots through Super Buu and leaves him open for Gotenks' next attack. Gotenks goes for a Super Buu Fireball, and Super Buu attempts to stop it with a hand, but it actually misses and hits him in the face. Gotenks then launches Super Buu's Buu Ball at Super Buu, and Super Buu attempts to stop it with his arm, but it bounces off and blasts him with energy. Super Buu then launches Super Buu's Buu Ball at Gotenks, and instead of hitting him, it cuts through him.
Super Buu realizes this, and begins to figure out Gotenks' attacks. He begins to fight back and begins to use a barrage of attacks and begin to use them with short pauses between them. Super Buu then fires off another barrage of attacks and becomes more desperate and stronger. Gotenks is caught off guard and a Super Buu Fireball collides with his feet, causing him to fall down onto the ground. After Gotenks lands, he is suddenly surrounded by a blue energy force. Gotenks realizes that the blue force is Goku's Ki and tells him to protect the Super Buu ball. Goku tells him not to worry, and asks his name. Gotenks responds with Super Gogeta, and Goku tells him to listen to him and tell him what to do. Gotenks then tells Goku that he is a great fighter, but he wants to fight like Super Buu, which makes Goku give him some advice on his new Super Buu style. Gotenks tells him to attack and attack, and Goku says to be more like Vegeta and go for the body. Goku then asks if he is ready, and Gotenks gives a big smile. Goku then feels a sense of relief and says to go for the body.
The fight eventually ended with a fierce fight, but the young Super Saiyan 3 finally managed to land a blow on Super Buu. Goku then uses the Kamehameha to shatter Super Buu's Super Buu Ball into pieces. He then uses all of his strength to crush Super Buu to death. The two are then presumed dead as both sides celebrate the battle as a great victory. Super Buu, however, was not defeated, as he has simply taken a long nap. Super Buu makes his return to take back the planet, and with his Super Buu Ball he swallows Gotenks and Piccolo, and then rides them off into space. One of the strongest enemies, Super Buu was defeated, but this victory was also short-lived. Super Buu is once again revived after the battle, as the Red Ribbon Army begin collecting and absorbing Goku and his friends. A series of battles then ensues, with the Red Ribbon Army taking Goku and his friends to a place known as the 'Eternal Battlefields'.
