Tea samples were collected from different localities and seasons in Bangladesh. Although the collection of the samples was performed with permission from the owners of the tea estates, the samples were not collected with the knowledge of the authorities of the Ministry of Environment, Forest & Climate Change (MoEF&CC). The samples were placed in airtight glass bottles, accurately labeled, and stored in a freezer at the laboratory until analysis. After collection, the samples were transported to the laboratory in ice boxes and stored in a refrigerator until analysis.

For determination of heavy metal concentrations, a standard procedure was followed as recommended by the AOAC [6]. The accuracy of the proposed method was assured by analyzing the following certified reference materials: NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) 1633a Tea Leaves (China) and NBS 2433 Tea (India).
