What is it about? Plant biologists are starting to realize that cell behaviour is not only determined by gene expression but also by how the different parts of the cell are organized and communicate. A plant cell is a complex unit: why should one member of the plant community, which consist of more than seven billion individuals, be so different from another? This book, which is also available in hardback, includes a unique section, entitled: 'A Plant Cell in Three Dimensions, is a guide to viewing plants using the most advanced imaging techniques. It will prove invaluable to researchers and teachers in plant biology, both in the laboratory and in the classroom.. This book contains over 1,100 of the most exquisite original illustrations, many of which are of an exquisite quality, including many stereoscopic and panoramic views. These images are reproduced directly from the scientific literature (some of which have never been published). So, if you are interested in this unique subject, look no further.
