I love the free motion quilting videos. Your instruction is very easy to understand. I have a Juki Evin 110 sewing machine. There is no free motion foot for it. I know that there is a free motion foot that goes on top of the sewing machine and the foot is adjustable. My question is, does a foot like that that goes on top of the machine use a walking foot? If not, how does the adjustable foot work for free motion quilting? Thanks for your explanation. Peggy
This is a wonderful review. I have been longing for a good free motion quilting review but have been putting it off because I can not see the foot. I love the Juki machine and have been wanting to buy one for some time. I have an older Singer that has been with me since college but my skills have gone to waste. I have learned to use rulers with straight line quilting but have not had a chance to take a class or do any free motion quilting. I love the idea of using the foot for a walking foot. I think I have had one in the past and did not like it. I am a quilter who wants to learn new skills and I want to learn to free motion quilt. I have a Juki JL7700 that I have had for 3 years now and I love it and it has been a great learning machine. I appreciate the step by step instruction. Thanks so much for the information. It has been very helpful to me.
So glad to see this video. I have a Juki 1010Q that I have used for 9 years and love. I have never used free motion quilting, though I do know how to machine quilt. I have always used a walking foot on my machine, since I had nothing else. I have never been able to see how the foot works to give me that free motion. I found this video and was able to see it and understand it. Free motion quilting is something I really want to learn to do. I used to watch a lot of quilting videos in the old days and loved the ones by Leah. I just found out this week that I have a new granddaughter I have been wanting to make her a quilt. I love her and want to make her a personalized quilt. I think I will make that my project. Now I want to make her a quilt.
Thanks for the video. I am interested in Free Motion Quilting and have had my eye on the Brother Juki XL620. I love that the Juki has built in free motion quilting but the rest of the Juki is pretty good too. I will be using the Free Motion Foot and Gator Grip feet.
I am really impressed with your review and experience with the Juki. I have been waiting to get one for a while now. I don't have any experience with free motion before and I was very excited when I received my Juki. I will definitely go with the Gator Grip feet. I have ordered the backing for my first project and I am anxious to get started.
I just got my Juki last week. I had an Aprima, but I didn't like it, so I got the Juki. It's a great machine, and I really like it. I have only used it to stitch a pillow, but I am excited to get to free motion quilting. I was just getting ready to buy a machine, but now I know which one to get. Thanks for the review, and I will definitely be following your blog and YouTube videos. 827ec27edc
