Haul trucks are off-highway, rigid dump trucks specifically engineered for use in high-production mining and heavy-duty construction environments. Haul trucks are also used for transporting construction equipment from job site to job site. Some are multi-axle in order to support the equipment that is being hauled.
Most haul trucks have a two-axle design, but two well-known models from the 1970s, the 350T Terex Titan and 235T Wabco 3200/B, had three axles. [1] Haul truck capacities range from 40 short tons (36 long tons; 36 t) to 496 short tons (443 long tons; 450 t).
The largest, highest-payload-capacity haul trucks are referred to as ultra class trucks. The ultra class includes all haul trucks with a payload capacity of 300 short tons (270 long tons; 270 t) or greater.[3] As of October 2013[update], the BelAZ 75710 has the highest payload capacity, 450 metric tons (440 long tons; 500 short tons).[4]
A rear-eject configuration is an alternative haul truck body style. Instead of lifting the bed vertically, the hydraulic cylinder pushes a ram-face horizontally through the body to eject the hauled load.[5]
Rear-eject dump vehicles were first introduced in the 1980s by LeRoy Hagenbuch, P.E. of Philippi-Hagenbuch, Inc.,[6] for a refuse hauling application in New York City. They were designed to work on Volvo BM truck chassis. While the functionality of the ejector bodies worked well, they were prone to maintenance issues and not replicated until the 1990s.[citation needed] The next documented ejector bodies were developed by DDT, a UK truck manufacturer.[7] A variation using steel chains instead of a hydraulic ram was introduced by Bell, but did not become popular.[8]
Caterpillar Inc. began offering a rear-eject option using technology originally designed for its scrapers after one of its contractors successfully converted a few CAT D400 models. The new design, installed on the company's D400E model, was less likely to jam in cold weather.[8] CAT later began manufacturing a standard R.E. body for its 730, 740, and 740B articulating haul-truck series.[9]

Dressing percentage is calculated by dividing the warm carcass weight by the shrunk live weight of the animal and expressing the result as a percentage. For example, suppose that an animal delivered to the packing plant weighs 1300 pounds. After being killed, the hide, head, feet and gut are removed. The warm carcass then weighs 767 pounds. The dressing percent of this animal would be 767 divided by 1300 multiplied by 100 equalling 59%. This \"59%\" represents the meat and skeletal portion of an animal compared to its live weight. Note that the animal is weighed after transportation to the packing plant so that live weight is a shrunk weight. Also note that the carcass is weighed warm as opposed to cold. The dressing percentage for a cold carcass can be 2.0 percentage point lower than the warm carcass dressing percentage for the same carcass.
Marketing procedures affect beef carcass yields. A feedlot that is 30 km from a packing plant can have higher dressing percentages than a feedlot 400 km from the plant. The difference in dressing percentages will be related to the difference in shrinkage that occurs while the animals are being transported. If the shrinkage is only gut shrinkage and not tissue or carcass shrinkage, then the difference in dressing percentages is not important for animals sold on a railgrade basis.
Studies at the Lacombe Research Station demonstrated that slaughter weight steers and heifers that fast for 48 or 72 hours prior to slaughter had warm carcass yields nearly 1.0 to 1.5% lower than equivalent cattle slaughtered after a 24-hour fast. This weight loss was attributed to losses in carcass lean, fat and water. Management practices such as quiet, efficient sorting and loading, limiting time in transit, loading trucks to recommended weight, and proper delivery timing at the plant will help reduce the interval that cattle are without feed, and lessen the stress level for long haul animals. This ultimately increases the value of the animal.
Other factors may affect carcass yield, but these are controlled by the packing plant rather than the feedlot, and therefore, the producer price is not directly influenced by these practices. For example, intermittent cold water spray chilling of the carcass can reduce carcass shrink age by 0.7 to 1.5%. Shrouding carcasses can reduce the loss to evaporation by 0.75 to 2.0%. Even carcass spacing within coolers and the feeding of an electrolyte solution to the animal prior to slaughter has shown to influence carcass shrinkage.

Mechs under player control require power: lifters use 10% of their power per day while active. If set to dormant self-charging, they instead recharge for 1% power / day, without pollution. They recharge in a mech recharger (200W), for 50% power/day, creating 5 wastepacks whenever the recharger's waste is filled up.
Lifters will do all tasks under the Haul tab. Other than bringing items to other places, Lifters can also re-arm turrets, reinstall buildings, and more. Lifters move at 2.8 cells/s, which is roughly 61% as fast as a baseline human.
Lifters have the benefits of being a mechanoid - they aren't human, and will constantly haul until they run out of power. While lifters move slower than colonists or animals, they spend the entirety of their time hauling. At minimum, mechs will work for 83% of the time (5 days of work, 1 day recharge, minus travel time), and they can be turned off when not required. Their lack of mood is useful for picking up far away items and cremating human corpses.
Finally, they are cheap to produce and amass. Their disposability is a unique benefit - you can have lifters pick up items near the map edge, and won't lose much if Randy decides to drop a pack of manhunters right on top of them.
Compared to the Carrier dryad, lifters move faster and are created faster. Carriers need to sleep, so lifters can work for longer before needing to charge. Carriers require active pruning, while lifters are autonomous from their master. You can turn off a lifter when hauling isn't required, but you need to keep pruning the gauranlen tree every day. However, lifters require Electricity and a mechanitor to function, and create pollution. Meanwhile, carriers are available from the neolithic era.
